Tips For New Mothers With Packing Bags
For generations mothers have always prepared a diaper bag. While it is a very easy task it can be scary for the mother who has never done it before. When getting the bag all ready there are a few things to remember and sometimes how old your child is and how long you might be away might mean you prepare it in another way.
The weight from the bag is going to vary and some of that weight comes from either the bottles or jars of food. When you start trying to feed the baby you might notice that it can be difficult and more so if you have decided to breast feed them. There are some mothers who go this route for a lot of reasons and if so you’ll find that the diaper bag might not be as heavy because the pumps for breast feeding are very light. The hard part might be trying to pick a spot that won’t bother anyone.
There are a lot of other things to consider when preparing a diaper bag. Younger babies might need blankets, pacifiers, rattles plus teething toys. This can cause your bag to become heavier depending on what kind you get. When the baby starts growing it’s always a good idea to carry a couple of clothes. You never know when something might happen and it is just a good idea to have it around. Another thing that might be needed as the baby gets older is a couple of sippy cups and those can get pretty heavy unless if you get the really light ones.
A common mistake that some new mothers forget about when packing and filling a diaper bag for the first time is what they not only drink but what they eat. At first the bag might not seem very heavy but when they start growing they might need more jars of baby food in their bag or either more bottles. Don’t forget that babies tend to go through growing stages and sometimes they might eat a lot one week but not the next and you need to always carry extra food with you because you never know when that growing stage might start to happen.
Most mothers don’t have much time to pack a bag. You can easily pack one bag and not have to worry about changing it until a few more weeks. Packing the bag up in advance with toys and clothing might help to save those precious minutes needed out on the road. If you forget something there are a lot of gas stores and other places that might have it at a great price. This happens often to mothers because of their stressful hours and lack of time so don’t worry about it if you find yourself doing this.
Always make sure that you have a list of stuff that you need such as milk, toys and other things. You can keep that list with you on the frig or at a place nearby to help when you are in a rush. Medication is another thing that you might need to put on the list and something for when they start teething. You’ll find the list changing as the baby gets older.
