Exercising for Weight Loss

The basic formula for losing weight is burning more calories than the body takes in. Thus, the best weight loss exercises are cardiovascular exercises and aerobics, which burn many calories, as well as lead to a healthier heart and lungs. Varying with body type and specific goals of the individual trying to lose weight, 30 minutes to an hour of cardio should be performed three or four times per week. This includes running, jogging, swimming, stair climbing, or any other activity that gets the heart rate up and the lungs working hard. The best weight loss exercises can be done at the gym, using a treadmill, stair-climber, or elliptical machine, or they can be performed outside in any neighborhood or public place, by running through the park, or power-walking around the block(s). Aerobic classes are a fun and effective version of cardio, and are popular for those with weight loss goals–one class can often burn equivalent to two or three healthy meals. Sports like kickboxing, tennis, and soccer include a lot of cardio activity, and are also effective options for weight loss.
