A Quick Explanation of Trampoline Parts
Trampolines are a great source of entertainment and exercise, and have long been a popular activity for families and kids. Many people choose to purchase their own trampolines for backyard use. If you are not familiar with trampolines you will be surprised at how simple they are in construction and complexity. There are only a few basic trampoline parts that when put together will lead to endless hours of fun for you and your family and friends.
The first basic element of a trampoline is the frame. The frame is the part of the trampoline that sits on the ground and supports the rest of the structure. They usually come in many parts and must be assembled. Frames need to be strong and durable, and because trampolines are often used outdoors, they must also be resilient to rust and weathering. This is why good trampoline frames are usually made out of stainless steel.
The jumping mat is the surface that users stand and jump on when they are on the trampoline. Mats are typically made out of highly durable woven polypropylene fabric. They are resilient to water and sun, but do eventually wear out and must be replaced. They are also strong enough to support the weight of larger jumpers or multiple children. Mats are designed to fit specific frame specs including size and spring number, so replacement mats must be compatible with your trampoline frame.
The last of the trampoline parts are the springs. The springs are the all important element that puts the bounce in a trampoline. These springs are typically made of stainless steel in order to not rust or break. The springs hook into the trampoline frame, and then hook into loops that are sewn into the trampoline mat. When all of the springs are hooked into the frame and suspending the mat then the trampoline is ready for use.
