Liposuction – Aids to Recovery

liposuction_surgery_3

When you decide to have body contouring procedures, it is good to remember that your liposuction procedure does not end with the surgery.  The doctor has done his part, here is where your part begins.

Most people are able to resume normal activity within two weeks after surgery with the help of a compression garment of bandage.  The result of the liposuction will not be evident for several weeks or months depending upon the procedure used.  The benefits will be more noticeable as the swelling subsides.

To help with recovery you should drink plenty of water so as not to cause dehydration.

Do not apply hot compresses to the treated areas.

Do not soak wounds until they have become sealed, usually 48 hours.

If you experience dizziness, take it easy and ask for help if available.  Tell your doctor.
