There are two main types of wood that you will find a bedroom wardrobe made of, oak and pine. Both types of wood make particularly attractive furniture and they both have their positive and negative aspects. That being said, there is really nothing about either choice that would stop you from buying one over the other.

As a personal preference I think I would lean towards a pine wood wardrobe, mainly because it is a lighter wood, so it would be easier to move. I also like the idea of a wood that is made from plantation grown timber and there is no chance that old-growth forests have been logged just so I can store my clothes.

The real problem in choosing a new bedroom wardrobe is that there is such a large range available that making a decision between them will possibly cause some paralysis by analysis. The trick is to weigh up exactly what your most important needs are and choose the wardrobe that most fills them.

This gives you the ability to view yourself full length while you’re dressing simply by closing the doors of the wardrobe and standing back. First though you should make sure the wardrobe you buy is large enough to hold your clothes. This may be the determining factor between choosing a 2-door unit or a 3-door unit.

Another determining factor will be the space you’ve got available in your bedroom. You can’t very well stick an expansive 3-door monster into a room that doesn’t allow it. Balance your needs with the room you’ve got, choose a wardrobe with a mirror attached and you’ll have it made.
