2 Things to Increase Vertical Jump

Learning how to increase vertical jump is very important for many sports and can make you excel at your sport.  But many people don’t realize just how easy it is to increase your vert.  I will give you two exercises you can do to be a better jumper.

1. Always focus on doing lower reps with more intensity.  This way you teach your muscles to jump higher and not just jump for a longer period of time.  You don’t want to learn how to jump or train your muscles for endurance.

2. You need to train in a way that immitates your sport.  If you play beach volleyball you need to do a lot of your jump training in the sand to get used to jumping out of sand.  If you play basketball you will need to jump while holding a basketball.

Jumping Exercises

Knowing some good jumping exercises can help you play your sport better.  If you play basketball or volleyball you need to jump your highest.  But no sport requires you to jump more than beach volleyball.  Every play requires at least one player from each team to jump.  Many times all 4 players on the sand will end up jumping at least once for each point scored.  A typical play will start with player 1 jump serving the ball.  Player 4 will pass the ball to player 3 who will set it for player 4 and player 4 will jump to hit it while player 2 on the serving team will jump to block the ball.  That right there just caused 3 out of the 4 players to jump.  And these jumps are not little jumps, you are giving it your all everytime.
