Using Camping Tables

Of all the times that I’ve been camping, the one thing I always wished I had along was a good, sturdy camping table. There have been so many times I wished I had something to lay an item on, but have had to make do with a log or the ground.

The most common time to need a camping table is meal times. It’s difficult enough as it is cooking with a campfire and metal tongs, but not having somewhere to put a hot dish on or not being able to keep your utensils close can make the difference between good camp food and disaster. Camp tables also come in handy when you’re fishing, to put your tackle box and beverage on, and when you’re bird watching, to keep your binoculars and bird book at hand.

Some Considerations With Camping Tables

If you want to complete your collection of camping chairs with a nice table to go with it, there are a few things you should consider.

Of course, the first thing you should do is to find a chair that you feel comfortable in. It needs to have a height that fits your own height. A chair that fits you means that you can plant your whole foot on the ground at the same time as you have 90 degrees in your knees.

To find a table that matches the chairs is not difficult at all. The thing that is most important is that you can sit at an upright position when eating at the table. A good rule is to get a table in a height that gives you the ability to lay your underarms straight at the table while having 90 degrees in your elbows.
