Bathroom Planning can be devilishly difficult

Before you plan your bathroom consider the rest of your home.

Don’t look at your bathroom as a room in isolation. Look at it as part of the functionality of your house. Could you save space in your bathroom by installing a separate shower room in a bedroom? Would it help your kitchen space to put your washing machine in the bathroom? Do you need to extend your home to meet the requirements for bathroom facilities for your family?

Some rooms are easier than others to add necessary plumbing to. Toilets are hard to install away from the main plumbing areas although you can get special solutions for that too but it is relatively easy to add a bathroom sink to bedrooms which would be particularly handy if you have teenage kids and only one bathroom.  The best bathroom sinks these days  add to rather than detract from the decor.

If planning all the possibilities seems a bit too difficult to do yourself, it may be worth paying an architect to look at your home and provide a few ideas  which will allow you to get in all the bathroom sinks and toilets you need.
