Hemp Baby Clothes?
Hemp is just one of the new trends in natural fibers and materials being used for the manufacturing of baby clothes. Why choose hemp? First, it is a plant that grows quickly without the need for potentially harmful chemicals and pesticides. Hemp plants also enrich the soil in which they are growing, in turn giving back to the land. After harvested, hemp fibers are incredibly strong and don’t require a complicated production process. The clothing,then, made from hemp will last through multiple washing and even use by multiple children. Other advantages hemp fibers have include being mold and mildew resistant, and being 100% biodegradable. This appeals to people who are looking for ways of reducing their carbon footprint on the environment.
Hemp is not the only all-natural, organic fiber that is being used today. Other materials include 100% organic wool or cotton, and even bamboo. Just be sure that you read the label carefully. Tags that read 100% cotton does not necessarily mean 100% organic cotton.
