About Hair Plug Surgery
Hair transplants have come a long way, baby. Older techniques often left patients looking like dolls heads – or worse.
But today, hair restoration results are so good, a hair stylist might not even know.
If you’re a candidate, the surgeon will remove a strip or strips of scalp from the back of your head and suture the wound closed.
The strip(s) is then divided under microscopes into small grafts ranging from one to four hairs. After tiny incisions are made into the balding area to be treated, each graft, or hair plug, is inserted into the scalp. The larger hair plugs, with 3 or 4 strands, are placed in the crown and top of the head; 1 to 2 strand grafts are placed towards the front. This gives a very natural look.
